The main means of visiting Pemba Island are by light aircraft charter or scheduled flight. There is also a ferry service but this is not always reliable. The only airport is Chake Chake in the centre of the Island, and the main port used by the ferry service is Mkoani in the south-west.
After arriving at the airport there is a short vehicle ride to Wesha Port on a newly built bitumen road which takes approximately 20 minutes. We then provide a private speedboat service (20-25 minutes) from Wesha Port to Fundu Lagoon. There is no useable road access.
The best weather is between December and March and again from July to early November, with the optimum months being July through to September.
