Zanzibar is located in the Indian Ocean about 35 kilometers (22 miles) off the coast of mainland Tanzania.

Zanzibar, the real name is Unguja Island, its a partner in the United Republic of Tanzania. This resort is located on the east coast of the Zanzibar Island, in an area known as Kiwengwa on the Indian Ocean about 35 kilometers (22 miles) off the coast of mainland Tanzania at Longitude 39 degrees East and Latitude 6 degrees South of the Equator. The highest point of Zanzibar island is 150 meters above sea level.

Bluebay Beach Resort & Spa is less than an hour's drive from the Airport - Abeid Karume Airport - on an all weather tarmac road. To fly into Zanzibar, guests take a 45-minute flight from Nairobi, Kenya, which is the region's largest city with air-links to almost every major world city.

East African Safari Air / Kenya Airways / KLM fly into Zanzibar daily from Nairobi, Kenya. Many other international airlines fly to Dar es Salaam from where visitors can take a local flight to the island or choose to cross over by ferry (the trip by sea lasts approximately 2 hours). A number of European tour operators also operate regular weekly charter flights directly to Zanzibar island.

Climate

The climate in Zanzibar is tropical, average temp. 25 degrees centigrade throughout the year. Long rains in April / May, short rains in October / November. The hot, dry season in Zanzibar ranges from November to March.
