The style of the Four Star Palm Dune Beach Lodge can be described as a fusion of Natal Colonial and Bali–Indonesian, and is surrounded by an amazing 29 different palm species, as well as huge indigenous fig trees.
The Lodge, one of the finest Africa hotels, is situated right on the beach and between two estuaries which provide a beautiful, protected bay from where Dolphin and Whale-watching excursions are launched. For the golfer, Palm Dune is central to six top-class golf courses within a 25-kilometer radius, with a host of other activities that can be conducted at or in the immediate environs of the Lodge.
A lodge of this nature is a rare find on the sought after Dolphin Coast of KwaZulu-Natal and is less than an hours drive north of Durban International Airport en route to the rich diversity of Zululand’s Big Five game reserves and the St Lucia Wetland Park World Heritage Site.
Palm Dune Beach Lodge currently provides 27 en-suite air-conditioned bedrooms. The expansion sees this going to thirty-eight with banqueting facilities overlooking the warm Indian Ocean seating up to 140.
Weddings & Functions: There are few venues that can offer wedding services and receptions right on the beach. At Palm Dune you can arrange to have your wedding service barefoot on the beach, with the waves breaking gently on the shore a few metres away. The reception can then be held up in the main dining pavillion or even on the beach. With the dining pavillion capacity being up to 80 people it is preferable to remain within this number so the entire group can be moved off the beach if the weather becomes inclement.
