Thonga Beach Lodge is a luxurious lodge set on the pristine shores of the Maputuland coast, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This 24-bed luxury lodge is the ideal place to discover one of the most unspoilt wilderness beaches left on the African continent.
Mabibi is a magical place of coastal forests, grasslands, bush, shimmering lakes and exquisite sandy beaches. Its crystal clear, warm waters offer South Africa's best snorkelling and fantastic off-shore scuba diving. Set above a secluded bay, Thonga Beach Lodge is nestled into beautiful coastal dune forest with sweeping views of the stunning beach below.
The thatched bush suites provide guests with complete privacy and were carefully constructed to ensure minimal impact on the environment, as are many other Africa hotels. The lodge offers luxurious accommodation, mouth-watering meals and one of the best dive sites in the South Africa. Thonga Beach Lodge is situated only metres from the beach and a 10 minute drive from Lake Sibiya, Southern Africa's largest freshwater lake, which is part of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, now internationally recognised as a World Heritage Site.
Child Policy: All children are welcome, if 12 years and under they pay 50% of the full tariff when sharing with parents. A maximum of one child per room (with parents) at this discounted rate. Children between 12 years and 18 years pay 75% of the full tariff if sharing with adults. An extra person in the room is accommodated on a fold out 'stretcher' type bed in the room. Please note that the rooms are open plan. Children under 6 years are requested to have dinner half an hour earlier than adults.

Several fish species abound here

Species of fish found on the reefs near Thonga Beach Lodge include parrot fish, blue surgeons, marble and manta rays. The warm Indian Ocean waters also attract huge schools of Bottlenose Dolphin, Sharks, Whale Sharks and turtles.
